Testimonials

Here’s what they say about us…

Thank you so much to the team at WaiWaste and your suppliers such as The Food Network
and the supermarkets, for all your amazing support in helping us host and feed around 90-
100 people each week at Community Kai.

We always have a full dinner and dessert and without your help, we wouldn’t be able to do it so comfortably. This past week we had creamy salmon bake with mashed vege topping, and apple sponge pudding with icecream, always served with hot buttered rolls.

We are so grateful for the meat you provide, and also the “basics” such as butter, cream, potatoes, apples, milk powder, sugar and flour. You really keep our pataka kai fully supplied and we’re so grateful.

Waiwaste support our Whaiora pātaka kai.

Being recipients of rescued kai allows us to be able to fill the pātaka every morning.  Sometimes we have tangata waiting for us and they are so grateful for the kai.

We have spoken to many different people from many different walks of life that would not have kai that day if it wasn’t for the pātaka and sometimes this allows us the opportunity to support them in other ways.

We are very grateful for the mahi that Waiwaste and all their volunteers do and we are very grateful recipients of this mahi.

Ngā mihi nui Waiwaste!

Pasifika O Wairarapa Trust have been fortunate enough to have received food parcels from Waiwaste since Pasifika o Wairarapa Trust opened in 2022.

Through the Covid pandemic, Waiwaste was a very important organization to partner up with as this was able to benefit our many many families that needed this and was desperate for assistance.

Waiwaste is a massive impact for the Trust, as we are still able to continue the support to our families, as it is still a need, we get phone calls from families or referrals that families are still struggling to get food on the table for their families. We are always happy to help like Waiwaste Management, the friendly staff there always are welcoming and always happy to give.

The food parcels have truly helped many of our Pasifika families, but also our non-pasifika families, throughout our community, as our motto within our Pasifika is to serve those that are in need of support.

It gives us the opportunity to connect with our families and build trust in allowing them to reach out in times of need. As a trust we are so very grateful to Waiwaste for providing them food in times of need. We personally deliver each food parcel and have received nothing but gratefulness and appreciation.

We would like to acknowledge Waiwaste and their lovely team for doing their part in helping our Pasifika community and wider community. We appreciate the work you do also Waiwaste Management for our Communities and Organizations.

Good Bitches Baking are stoked to be recipients of Waiwaste. Our Kaupapa is spreading kindness, one treat at a time. Our network of 80 volunteers here in Wairarapa do this by providing baked goods to organisations that work with people having a hard time who distribute it for us.

Because we are all volunteers, the cost of ingredients comes from our own purses. The supplies we get from Waiwaste are so appreciated in helping reduce the burden on our volunteers. Also we know that many of the organisations that Waiwaste supports, are organisations that we support too – so it’s like being part of this awesome microcosm of kindness right here in Wairarapa.
